The amanita muscaria, fly agaric toadstool, has been needle felted with care and attention to detail to create a realistic looking piece to treasure.
It would look great on a shelf or bookcase, or somewhere where you wish to show it off, but not in direct sunlight as it would cause the colour to fade. A wonderful gift for any mushroom lover for any occasion at any time of year.
It has been made from 100% pure sheep's wool, from the fly agaric's cap, gills, stem and to the mound.
The Fly Agaric is supported by a metal rod, which travels through the mound and into the wooden block. The block has been decoupaged and painted in burnt sienna acrylic paint to not detract from the sculpture.
The detail on the front of the wooden block contains the name of the fungus in English and in Latin. The block measures approx 7cm x 7xm x3cm.
The toadstool is approximately 14cm tall with its cap approx 8cm. Total height of structure being 21cm approx.
